Rotary Club of Bolingbrook Mini Golf Fundraiser on August 27th!
In our efforts to promote literacy, we award grants to local elementary school libraries and community organizations that support literacy and help kids develop a love of reading that will grow with them.
In 2026, we $3560 awarded to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library of Will County provides free, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age five in Will County. Each month a new book arrives right to their door and children can grow their home libraries and make magical memories reading with their favorite adults.
We presented a donation of $3560 at the Rotary club of Bolingbrook’s annual Mac and Cheese Cookoff and Fundraiser. All told we raised enough for 222 kids to get books each month for one year (that’s 2,664 books).

School Librarians from Valley View School District Elementary Schools in Bolingbrook were invited to apply for the grants at the start of the school year.
We had 5 applications and were able to fully fund all five!

Each of the following schools were awarded a $500 grant in 2024 based on the proposals written by our local elementary school librarians:

What did the libraries invest in?
Here are the proposed investments from the 2024 grant process:
Current nonfiction books about animals
Non fiction books for dual language learners
Biographies of current, popular figures
Expanding the collection of bluestem award-winning books
Expand the collection to better represent the many cultures at the school
Expand the collection of beginning chapter books
